When The Sun Came Up, You Were Looking At Me

February 19-28, 2021

Drove in late Friday night, woke up and drove to Ponca for a day with two planned hikes – an adventure day that really started at the Walmart halfway there.

After that unexpectedly adventerous day, we were ready for a calm Sunday at Crystal Bridges. That was, before Kylee had us at US Pizza drinking mimosas before we all hit up Lokomotion for some laser tag and a pretty interesting photo booth session. Julia won basketball… again.

Then a normal week for us:

  • Monday: Run, dinner, Puritan margaritas.
  • Tuesday: 55-mile bike ride (partly in the dark), beers at Airship, returned 10 after 7, sleep.
  • Wednesday: Rest day with The Fantastic Mr. Fox. ✊
  • Thursday: Unplanned big feelings over breakfast. ❤️ Lincoln Lake in the afternoon (we need to go back).
  • Friday: Atlas date night, Fox Trail, and drinks + live music at the Piano Bar.
  • Saturday: Started really nicely. Slept in, Briar Rose, and the jungle gym at the park. Just couldn’t goodbye yet so we got Puritan with Kylee and finally got to go to the Dickson St. Book Store (a maze of Russian books, no doubt), later that night we got a Calzone and drinks with Kylee, Sharon, and friends in Springdale. Kylee may have found her future husband behind the bar. Only time will tell.
  • Sunday: Depature day, always sad, but got a good walk to MLK and back in. Exchanged some good stories, something we never seem to run out of.
